Hi, My name is Stuart, and I am the owner and founder of Aitken Design.

Growing up, one of my hobbies was messing about with graphics on the computer, creating cards for family and friends and posters and tickets for community events.

This is where my spark for graphic design came from and where my family nurtured it.

Fast forward several years, 2 full time jobs working with charities, a development undergrad degree and a masters in business and we get to where we are today.

My passion is for helping people, coming from my years working with charities, and that is what I hope we do at Aitken Design.

When I am not at work, I tend to be relaxing with a film or binge watching a box set. I also like playing football or volleyball, and love to solve a good puzzle.

Ben Thelwell

Operations Manager

Since joining Aitken Design in 2021, I've worked my way from Print Production Assistant to Operations Manager (with a few stops in between). Along the way I've learnt new skills, and developed old ones, that put me in a position now to help our clients with any problem or project they bring to us.

Growing up I was introduced to art in abundance thanks to the exceptional talent and infectious passion that my Nana had for both musical and visual creativity. As I got older my attention moved to graphic design and I found a passion of my own.

Since then I've continued to develop my knowledge of design as a whole including physical elements like printing and engraving and more recently Animation. In my own time I do my best to balance the time I spend at a computer with time spent outdoors. If there's an outdoor sport that requires minimal cardio yet offers great views there's a very good chance it's on my schedule.

Julie Aitken

Admin Assistant

Hi, I’m Julie, Aitken Design’s Administration Department!

I’ve worked with Stuart at Aitken Design for nearly a few years now, and have loved the opportunity to join the family business. My role in the business is to answer inquiries, send all the quotes and invoices, and also pack and send the seasonal packs, as well as keeping on top of the mountains of paperwork.

I am Stuart’s sister aka ‘the youngest and wisest child’! Working in the family business is allowing me to support my young family with the flexibility of working from home, and it’s rewarding to work in the family business.

When I’m not working, I spend most of my time keeping my two kids and two dogs amused and out of mischief, so we go on lots of long walks and bike rides. 

When I get some time to myself I enjoy horse riding and trips to Starbucks!
